Presenting Kenley staff blogger that is new

It was simply over two years ago it has been that I started as an Assistant Director of Admission at USC. Wow, what a journey! I work with students from the variety of areas: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas City, and parts of Orange County and San Diego (phew!). We have bright red hair, as well as the fiery personality to complement, and so I am always full of energy or more for any adventure. We love to travel, explore the outdoors, bake anything with chocolate (lots of it!), and you can always find me dancing if you have a tune that is upbeat. I will be thrilled to be joining the blogging team and can not wait to share a number of my insights and knowledge about the admission procedure and college life.

I grew up in Utah and lived in the most mountains that are beautiful the world. I spent quite a little bit of time checking out them, but got sick and tired of the long winters, which is why I became eager to attend college in sunny Southern Ca. We attended Claremont McKenna College where I studied International Relations and Psychology.

I loved my university experience. I actually loved it, and that’s why I love working in degree, specifically helping students find an institution that is clearly a good fit. It is very easy to talk to potential pupils about USC because it is this type of place that is great live and study. We am lucky to the office on such a dynamic, energy-filled campus. Our pupils are thinkers, educational options are plentiful, and we’re located in an urban community in one of the greatest urban centers on the planet. I cannot wait to share more about the USC experience and also the admission process within my posts in the future!

Dining Table For One

‘ Our suitcases that are battered piled on the sidewalk again; we had much longer methods to go. But no matter, the road is life.’ Jack Kerouac

Currently, this blog is being written by me sitting inside a Peet’s Coffee in Northern California. Dining Table for one, headphones in ears, answering emails and logging down notes about my high school visits from earlier today. For the week that is next a half, I will be residing in hotel rooms and having meals on my own. Usually, there is time and energy to explore the cities I visit to make certain that’s nice. But most of this right time, the road can be tiring so I invest most of my time resting as much as possible. It is very simple to get unwell regarding the road!
For about two months of the year, a huge number of admission representatives all over the nation live this life style. From the outside perspective, this indicates really glamorous. In lots of ways, it is just a very fun work. It really is truly rewarding to manage to aid students in one of the most extremely phases that are transitional their life. It is additionally good being able to be away from the workplace. However, this element of the job can be isolating because well. It makes me appreciate my friends, wife and family straight back at home more.
Still, our mission is what is on the forefront. USC visits over 2,000 schools each year; we visit the most schools that are high of any college in the nation. We have been out here in search of students that may make up the following incoming class of freshmen at USC. It is our goal to place together an exceptionally diverse class every 12 months so we want to meet various types of students. I am honored to do my tiny part in this process. It brings me personally a feeling of fulfillment to operate for a university that aligns with my own vision for education.
So seek us down. Ask concerns. Get to know us. We care in what we do and all we want is so that you can be pleased with your decision. It’s a big life decision so that it’s important become well informed. If we appear to be we’re in a rush in between visits, it is most likely because we have been.
